Alliances

Over the past several years, Enzon has established an extensive alliance network, several of our key alliances are highlighted below.

• In July 2006, we entered into a license and collaboration agreement with Santaris Pharma A/S (Santaris) for up to eight RNA antagonists. We obtained worldwide rights, other than Europe, to develop and commercialize RNA antagonists directed against the HIF-l α and Survivin gene targets. Santaris will design and synthesize RNA antagonists directed against up to six additional gene targets selected by us, and we will have the right to develop and commercialize those antagonists worldwide, other than Europe. Santaris retains the right to develop and commercialize products developed under the collaboration in Europe.
• In November 1990, we entered into an agreement with Schering-Plough Corporation to apply our proprietary PEG technology to develop a modified form of Schering-Plough’s INTRON^® A. Under our licensing agreement with Schering-Plough, Schering-Plough receives the worldwide rights to market PEG-INTRON, a longer-acting form of INTRON^® A (interferon alfa-2b, recombinant) Injection that uses proprietary PEG technology developed by Enzon. Under the Company’s licensing agreement with Schering-Plough, we are entitled to royalties on worldwide sales of PEG-INTRON for all indications and Schering-Plough is responsible for all manufacturing, marketing, and development activities for PEG-INTRON.
